Restoring a Fire Damage Navajo Rug

This antique Navajo Rug was hanging on the wall when a fire occurred. The side facing the fire was severely affected and the side facing the wall much less so. The result was that there was a very marked difference. Removing the soot and an oily residue to restore the color while controlling the colour bleed many Navajo Rugs are prone too was an enormous challenge but removing the odor was even more intense.
