J.B. Moore published a number of mail order catalogs in the first few years of the 20th Century. According to rugs that were represented by photographs a customer could order a Navajo Weaving custom made in several sizes and grades.
This design is called a "Storm Pattern” and it features lightning elements with the figures top and bottom representing "water bugs".
Woven from homespun wool, it is tightly woven and has some lazy lines and is in wonderful condition.
Natural Black, Carded Gray and White yarn with aniline dyed red elements and outlining on some of the edges.
