The Swat Valley of N.W. Pakistan near the Afghan border is the gateway to Central Asia and the Himalayas.

The thick forests supplied wood for the building of buildings, doors and furniture.

These antique low-chairs are made with joints and no nails or screws.The seat  is woven leather and incredibly strong…strong enough to stand on.

Low chairs such as this one were used with Low-tables carved from wood with unique designs.
