One of the rarest stools I have found in all my years of collecting.
Every dealer and every collector has different criteria for their collections and the objects they collect.
Of course signs the objects was made according to traditional specifications and techniques, that the object was authentically used and that no techniques to alter the appearance to enhance age, appearance, condition or signs of use were used to ‘enhance’ it’s authenticity, value or rarity.
Besides the criteria listed above I find the power and energy the object evokes in me to be paramount.This is I find to be particularly important for me when experiencing African Art & Objects.
When I find an object I never tire of living with and the experience intensifies for me over time, never waning and only increasing then I know it is for me exceptional.
This stool is extremely dense and feels smooth with use..It is no doubt an unusual and rare object.
