Antique Twill woven Cotton rag strip blanket woven on a traditional Pueblo loom in all probability by a Navajo Servant.
This fascinating rug shows both a Navajo Dine weaving style/signature as well as a Pueblo style.
Very few of these rugs survived as they were used as packaging material or harshly in the floor. As such examples such as these are besides being unusual they are also rare.
I have always found rugs & textiles to be the stories of the lives and peoples who wove them…Instead of letters & words to tell their stories knots and designs & patterns comprised of sequences of knots are used instead.
These objects were not made for commerce or resale and are real rarities in our modern world.
